Black Mulberry Porridge
Black mulberries are a delicious dried fruit! What’s more, these berries are really good for you. They’re a source of vitamin C, calcium, fiber, iron and protein. Black mulberries are sweet and have a honey-like flavor and are a perfect addition to your muesli, oatmeal or smoothie. They’re also a delicious snack on their own!
ca 10 minutes
1 day (in an air-tight container)
40 g black mulberries (or berries of choice)
60 g oatmeal
175 ml almond mylk (or other mylk)
a pinch of vanilla powder, unsweetened
a pinch of cinnamon
2 tsp maple syrup, optional
Bring the almond milk to a boil in a small saucepan and then add the oatmeal, cinnamon, vanilla powder and a pinch of salt. Simmer the oatmeal, stirring continuously on low heat for several minutes until the porridge starts to thicken. Stir again, transfer to a bowl and sprinkle with black mulberries and add some maple syrup (optional).
P.S. Top it with some sliced apple for an additional Vitamine C boost ; )
