Familie Kroes kerstdiner
Kerst bij de familie Kroes… Mijn zus en ik werden op Eerste Kerstdag altijd vrolijk wakker van het gezang van John Lennon’s Happy X-mas. In onze pyjamaatjes dansten we dan naar de keuken, waar mijn ouders al ruim een uur het avondmaal aan het voorbereiden waren. De hele dag speelden we spelletjes met onze pake’s en beppe’s, aten we zelfgemaakte koekjes en deden we ons best om de buik niet vol te krijgen, want: het kerstdiner werd gemaakt door mijn heit (papa in het Fries). Gans, haas, kip, eend… Als heit kookte was het feest en werd het groots aangepakt. Het gevogelte kwam van de jager uit het dorp, dus verser kon niet. Gecombineerd met witlof, ongezoete peertjes, een verse salade en krieltjes. Yummy! Echt een feestmaal en allemaal gezond en biologisch!
Nog steeds houd ik me aan dit diner. Een lekkere, gezonde, maar minstens zo feestelijke variant van het gemiddelde traditionele kerstdiner. Natuurlijk mag je cheaten tijdens de feestdagen, maar maak het makkelijker voor jezelf door te zorgen dat wat je in huis haalt in elk geval vers en biologisch is. Als je, net als ik, niet gewend bent om veel zoetigheid en vet te eten, crave je tijdens de feestdagen al minder naar koekjes, chocolade en oliebollen. Voor mij is het een lifestyle en, zoals ook mijn klanten zeggen, als je je dat eenmaal eigen maakt is het heel easy om de gezonde keuze te maken. Ook tijdens Kerst! Have a happy & healthy Christmas!
