Even though we’re still seeing those April showers, I love this month! And it’s not only because it’s my birthday on the 30th, it’s just that I love being able to finally go out in just a denim jacket and the sun is finally strong enough to help us build our vitamin D reserves back up. What’s more, it’s light out for longer in the evenings now, which makes us all happy and is great for all my food pics! It’s been a perfect time to get back into my kitchen… And let me tell you, my kitchen and I have been working overtime! I’ve been holed up in there for weeks perfecting the recipes for my second book. I needed a bit of break so lately I’ve been focusing more on my training for the Nike ‘We Run Amsterdam’ event. It’s been giving me so much energy that I’m ready to get back to work on the very best spring and summer recipes.
Oh and for those of you who thought that my book was finished already… Nope. We’re now working hard on the layout and the text and my art director and I are travelling to Friesland and New York for the photos… I’ll be biking on the Brooklyn Bridge and pole-vaulting in the meadows. I’m so looking forward to it, but it’ll be intense. That’s why next week I’ll be doing a three-day juice fast to make my skin glow and to give myself a bit of a break mentally so that I’ll look radiant in my book.
