Powerdrink

Vegan | Vegetarian | Recipes | drinks by: Rens Kroes

These days, I’m doing my best to keep my immune system in good shape with healthy eating and drinking. If you’ve been following me for a while now, you’ll know that I see food as medicine. I believe that the better you nourish yourself (and this includes relaxation and good vibes), the stronger your resistance is/will be. This is why I continue to share Powerfood recipes. I started drinking this powerdrink this past week. It might not be the most delicious recipe I’ve ever created, but hey! Good health = real wealth. Just drink it… Especially in this crazy time. Cheers!

Prep time
15 min.

Portion
750 ml / 3 cups

Shelf life
drink immediately

Supplies
Teapot
Sieve or teabag
Citruspress, optional (link above)

Ingredients

2 tbsp #gucot apple cider vinegar
2 pinches ground cayenne pepper
2 cloves garlic, sliced
1 lemon
A thumb’s length of ginger, peeled and grated
750 ml hot water (not boiling)
2 tsp honey, or other sweetener of choice



Good health = real wealth. Just drink it… Especially in this crazy time. Cheers!
Method
Combine the #gucot apple cider vinegar, cayenne and honey in a teapot. Then squeeze the juice of one lemon (using my awesome @powerfoodies citrus press:  https://www.powerfoodiesmarket.com/product/citruspers) into the teapot. Put the garlic and the grated ginger in a tea bag or a large tea egg, put the tea bag (egg) in the teapot and pour in the hot water. Stir the mixture carefully with a spoon and leave it to steep for five minutes. Stir again and pour into mugs. You can also drink it cold.
