Relaxing in NYC
Yeah! I’m in New York! Three weeks of enjoying the city I lived in six years ago and that has inspired me so much. I have to be here at least once a year. My boyfriend has an apartment in the East Village and that’s where we always stay when we’re in NYC. To me, the Village is one of the coolest and most fun neighborhoods in the Big Apple. The streets are always lively here. You step out of your door and you’re right in the middle of it. Love it!
And, how great is this! It’s also Fashion Week in New York. That means parties, shows and fancy dinners. Oh help! It’s been tough to find balance these past couple of weeks in terms of relaxing, being active and nutrition. I’m sure you recognize this from a vacation or a weekend away. I try to work out regardless when I’m here, which keeps me fit and sharp. And from time to time I open up my laptop and do a bit of work so that I can keep on top of things. But, really I’m mostly just enjoying the great parties and (lots of) the tasty food. And that’s allowed! Because New York inspires me. When I’m home again in Amsterdam, I’ll make a list of my favorite NYC hotspots just for you!
You’ll find lots of recipes I discovered in NYC in my book, just like this one for Chia Banana Pudding. It’s really yummy and on top of that it’ll kick start your day.
