After having done such a strict detox you’d think I’d have had enough of juice and smoothies for a while. But that’s not the case! I think it’s because of the heat. Summery temperatures make me thirsty! And after a while, you tend to get fed up with drinking liters of water and tea.
Now I drink watermelon juice by the gallon. I learned how to make it on Ibiza last year. I love the taste and it’s perfect on warm days since the fruit is made up of 95% water, making it extremely thirst quenching. Watermelon contains very few calories, is full of iron, potassium, vitamin C and… It’s good for your libido. So, why not indulge in a Watermelon Mocktail every day? All I can say is: cheers!
1 day in the fridge
ice cube tray
½ watermelon (1 kg)
8 mint leaves
1 tbsp of raw honey (optional)
Chop the watermelon into small pieces and puree it in the blender. Fill an ice cube tray with the puree and place it in the freezer for at least two hours. Pour the rest of the puree into a glass, through a sieve, so that you filter out the pulp. Transfer the strained juice back into the blender, squeeze half a lime into it, add the mint leaves and some honey, if you’d like. Process the apple in your juicer and add its juice to the blender. Are the watermelon ice cubes frozen yet? Then add them and mix! A deliciously ice cold mocktail that’s perfect for this lovely summer!
