Work that ass
I think I have a case of spring fever and my body is reacting to it. Summer is coming, ahhh! Which means summer nights on terraces, days at the park, as well as shorts, tiny dresses and… Bikinis! That’s why when summer’s approaching, I go the gym extra often. Not only do I feel way more energized when the sun is shining, but you also have to work HARD to look beautiful.
Thank god my trainer, Johnny Fernand, isn’t sweet or tender when it comes to my workouts. There are no excuses! And when I get the hang of it, I’m actually unstoppable. I love that incredible feeling when you leave the gym; you feel fit, energized and totally satisfied… I sound like a total addict, but it is an addictive feeling!
I do thirty minutes of high-intensity interval training three times a week. These workouts involve intervals of exercises that promote explosivity, done at a high intensity, like running up the stairs five times, skipping rope at a high tempo 150 times and frog jumping. It’s the ideal type of training for the busy bees among us who want to keep working out in spite of their busy schedules. Good to know: strength training, in contrast to endurance training, will keep your inner heater burning well after your workout ends and, as a result, your body will continue burning calories for longer.
Working out is definitely more fun when you combine it with delicious pre- and post-workout foods. You’ll have to be disciplined, but it does pay off – my booty is getting rounder and rounder. Ha!
So, head to the gym! And if you need a little extra motivation, like I do sometimes, invest in a personal trainer! You’ll hate him or her at first, but when you’re strutting around on the beach with a tight butt and a nice tummy this summer, you’ll be thankful. Let’s do this!
